In Dubai, smart cars will be attracted to take driving tests

In Dubai, equipped with a special "smart" training ground for examinations for a driver’s license.

Mattar Al Thayer, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Dubai Road and Transport Administration, has launched Smart Training and Testing Yard for passing exams by future drivers at the Dubai Driving Center in Al Quoz.

The landfill is equipped with smart vehicles to test drivers. Cars are capable of perceiving the maneuvers made by drivers thanks to cameras connected to the central processor. He, in turn, can automatically collect data, find errors and determine whether a person passed the exam or not.

The project began with two training sites in February last year, and by the end of the fourth quarter this figure will increase to 16 specialized centers.

Al Thayer was told about the system used at landfills to ensure transparency and reduce errors due to the human factor. The system improves testing efficiency through automation, as well as safety through technology and prevents accidents and saves human resources.

Smart Testing Yard is equipped with a tower that allows the examiner to simultaneously monitor several vehicles. A log of all stages of testing will be kept to ensure fairness in making the assessment.

The vehicles are equipped with a tablet, central processing unit and five internal, front, rear and side cameras. They are also equipped with sensors for face identification.

The landfill is equipped with special signs. The car determines the quality of maneuvering, passing them, thanks to the side cameras installed on the car. Then the images and data are transmitted through ground sensors to the processor to determine the result. Through the tablet, you can explain the necessary maneuvers using voice messages during the exam.

In terms of safety, vehicles are equipped with a safety system that is considered the first of its kind in the world. The car can stop completely if the speed exceeds 35 km / h, or if it approaches an object in front of a car moving at a speed of 20 km / h, or in the event of a collision with an obstacle in front.
