Cartier

"ODYSSEY" IN 3.5 MINUTES

Cartier House introduced a short film called L'Odyssee de Cartier (Cartier Odyssey). A tape lasting only 3.5 minutes was created over two years! The efforts were not in vain, because in its beauty L'Odyssey de Cartier is not inferior to the films that are shown on the big screen.

The story captured in the video is happening with one of the main characters of the House - the panther. It is from her, standing under the dome of the window in the Cartier boutique, that the “narrative” begins: at first the main character of the film is motionless and flaunts in the boutique’s jewelry room as one of the most precious works decorated with loose diamonds. But in an instant she was enveloped in golden dust, and the panther, a second ago inanimate, comes to life and soars up, breaking free from the glass that hid it.

With this release, the journey of the panther begins. First, she rushes for the sleigh rushing across the ice of the St. Petersburg Neva, and this, as conceived by the authors of the film, symbolizes the inextricable connection of Cartier with Russian culture. The jewelry and watch house often created jewelry for the Russian imperial court, and Cartier’s friendship with Russia began with work on unique products for the wife of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich - Maria Pavlovna.

Chinese motifs appear in the film with the advent of the golden dragon, which turns into the Great Wall of China. Then the panther moves to the Maharaja Palace in India. Thanks to the cultural heritage of India, Cartier was inspired to create a unique style of Tutti Frutti, which played a large role in the history of the House and is still popular. And in one of the Parisian palaces where the panther falls, the top model Shalom Harlow appears - she is met in one of the halls by the main character of the video. But it turns out that this is not a palace at all, but a Cartier signature box! Indeed, each of them is a whole treasury with countless diamonds.
