The second collection "50 facts you need to know about Sharjah" has been published

Sharjah Media Center, the emirate’s government unit responsible for external communications, has published the second edition of the 50 Facts You Need to Know About Sharjah. It details the preservation of the emirate’s cultural heritage, its tourism and economic development, and a favorable investment climate. The publication includes such interesting facts as:
  • His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council of the UAE and the 18th ruler of Sharjah, comes from a family whose family tree began to form in the 17th century AD;
  • Sharjah is the only emirate that has borders with all the other six regions of the UAE;
  • The cost of industrial investment in Sharjah is 35% lower than in the rest of the country;
  • Sharjah's nine nature reserves are home to the rarest species of animals and plants;
  • Sharjah - the first emirate to join the World Health Organization's Healthy Cities program;
  • The UAE's first school, library and municipality appeared in Sharjah. In addition, the first education program for women was approved here in 1942;
  • It was in Sharjah that the first airport in the Persian Gulf region appeared;
  • Sharjah is actively implementing initiatives to develop the regional economy, tourism and attract investment.
