Emirates landmark architecture

SKY SCRAPERS OF THE ARAB EMIRATES ARE CREATED TO SURPRISE. YEAR YEAR FROM DESERT GROWS NEW ULTRA-MODERN BUILDINGS, DEMONSTRATING MIRACLES OF ENGINEERING AND SETTING NEW WORLD RECORDS.

Thousands of lights

The five-star Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi Hotel, located on Yas Island, is considered one of the most original architectural structures in the world. Two ultramodern buildings, located on water and on land, are interconnected by a glass bridge-gallery, passing over the highway "Formula 1". A glass-steel mesh 219 meters long is thrown on top of the buildings, protecting the structure from sunlight. 5096 LEDs are mounted in it, due to which the hotel shimmers with all the colors of the rainbow at night, and reflects the light of blue sky and azure waters during the day. It should be noted that the hotel and its "scales" are completely independent structures: the grid stands on its own foundation, which is supported by inclined rods. So the effect of soaring in the air is only an exclusive find of architects. The total area of the structure is 85 thousand square meters.

Falling tower

The Skyscraper Capital Gate, also known as the Leaning Tower of Abu Dhabi, entered the Guinness Book of Records as the building with the largest slope in the world - 18 degrees to the west. At the same time, the angle of inclination of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa is only 4 degrees, that is, 4.5 times less. The slope of the tower was made possible thanks to a special engineering solution: the plates of the tower floors were laid one on top of another strictly up to the 12th floor, above which they were located with gaps from 30 to 140 centimeters, which provided the necessary effect. Capital Gate is also considered the first building in the Middle East to use diagonal grid technology designed to absorb and redirect wind power and seismic pressure. The tower has more than 12,500 glass, which significantly reduces the cost of artificial lighting. Also in the building is a conical atrium 60 meters high. The height of the building is 160 meters above sea level.

Infinity sign

Dubai Cayan skyscraper, formerly known as Infinity, is the tallest residential building in the world, twisted 90 degrees, and the eighth tallest residential building in the world: it rises above the fashionable Dubai Marina quarter at a level of 307.3 meters. The walls of the skyscraper from the base to the roof are evenly twisted exactly 90 degrees, each floor is rotated 1.2 degrees relative to the previous one, and the premises are protected by movable perforated screens from direct sunlight. All communications of the skyscraper are located in a round “section” of the building and next to it, therefore the shape of the building does not affect their functioning.

Cubic effect

The surreal building of The Opus is only destined to appear in the center of Dubai, not far from the legendary record holder Burj Khalifa. The author of the "opus" was the famous Zaha Hadid, who became famous for her addiction to futuristic forms. Several towers with a height of 110 meters are integrated into a single cubic structure with a gaping void in the center: during the day it will be hollow, and at night it will sparkle with fancy lights. The 28-story building will house the hotel, office center and the world's first vertical cafe.

Spherical shape

The giant seashell at the exit from Abu Dhabi towards Dubai is the headquarters of the emirate's company Aldar. Due to its original form, the building also earned the title of one of the cult symbols of the UAE capital: it consists of two parts, curved outward. To give strength and stability, the golden ratio rule was used, with which the points of intersection of the circle with the ground were found. The unique structure of the facade is made of triangular glass elements, and thin steel beams outline huge rhombuses. The building is 110 meters high and has 23 floors. It is called "a masterpiece of architecture that broke the stereotype of the shape of skyscrapers."
