Dear veterans, compatriots, friends and colleagues!
Please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the great holiday - the 70th anniversary of the Victory over fascism! On this significant day, we with a special feeling of gratitude and pride recall those who defended the freedom and independence of their homeland, heroically fighting shoulder to shoulder in a deadly battle with fascism. Our peoples are united by a common sorrow for the immeasurable victims of the war, a sense of pride in the historical feat of the front-line soldiers and homeworkers who brought closer Victory Day.
During the war, almost the entire adult male population of our republic was called to the front. More than 360 thousand Kyrgyz soldiers or every fourth resident of Kyrgyzstan fought on the front lines and about 100 thousand of them died in the battles. Over 150 thousand Kyrgyz soldiers were awarded orders and medals for their heroism and courage, of which 34 soldiers are full holders of the Orders of Glory, and 73 Kyrgyz citizens were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
I am sure that the unparalleled heroism and self-sacrifice in the fight against fascism, demonstrated during the war years, will always serve as a worthy example for present and future generations.
