Dubai restaurants will be open during the day during Ramadan

Dubai's restaurants will serve food and sell alcohol during the day during Ramadan.

Dubai, UAE. Dubai's restaurants and bars will serve food and sell alcohol during the day during the entire month of Ramadan. This year, Ramadan will begin on May 16 or 17 - at the height of the tourist season. The Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing of Dubai believes that it is necessary to strike a balance between the needs of residents, tourists and Muslims.

"Workers in the catering industry are doing everything possible to comply with cultural traditions, but Dubai must satisfy the demand of all audiences. No one should be offended, at the same time everyone should feel kindly at home," said Issam Kazim.

The agency warned all catering establishments about the need to behave modestly during Ramadan and to cancel all live entertainment and shows throughout the day. Restaurants and bars during Ramadan, as a rule, advertise only iftars and crackers, paying tribute to local traditions.

It is noted that one of the restaurants in the Barsha Heights area faced sanctions after it issued a press release on alcohol brunch during Ramadan. It is expected that in the future the rules will be weakened - for, for example, in 2020, Ramadan will fall on March-April - the peak of the tourist season. But in 2020, Dubai expects to receive a record number of tourists - 20 million people.
