Bridge of Tolerance Appears in Dubai

The pedestrian crossing through the Dubai Canal was called the Bridge of Tolerance, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, said. The renaming was timed to coincide with the International Day of Tolerance, which is celebrated on November 16.

“Love and tolerance are bridges for communication and a universal language with the help of which humanitarian, religious and cultural values ​​are spread, which are fundamental in the UAE,” said Sheikh Mohammed. He also noted that "nation and tolerance are two sides of the same coin."

The ruler of Dubai said that tolerance is a necessary element for building the future and a national duty for every resident of the country. He recalled that in the UAE, representatives of more than 200 nationalities live in peace and harmony. "Today, the Emirates is a ray of light in the dark kingdom that we send to others," said Sheikh Mohammed.
