Abu Dhabi nuclear power plant spotted a whale shark

In the water facilities of the Abu Dhabi nuclear power plant, a representative of the largest species of sharks was spotted.

The movement of a young representative of the largest shark species - the whale shark - could be observed for several days at the nuclear power plant in Abu Dhabi.

Whale sharks can reach 12 meters in length, but on average grow up to 5.5-10 m. Although an adult shark can weigh up to 20.6 tons, representatives of this species do not pose a threat to humans.

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, whale sharks tend to prefer warm areas and tropical climates.

Nawah Energy posted a photograph of an exotic shark on its Instagram account with the caption: “It should be noted that the shark was probably attracted to the Barakah NPP offshore facilities due to the presence of food created in the habitat of the pier, which was built several years ago to improve ecological marine habitats near Barakah. ”
