UAE and Turkmenistan sign open skies agreement

The United Arab Emirates and Turkmenistan entered into an open skies agreement on an unlimited number of flights between the two countries on June 21, 2009.

A memorandum of understanding between the United Arab Emirates Civil Aviation Administration (GCAA) and Turkmenistan was signed in June. The GCAA official statement states that "the agreement allows flights of any carrying capacity, any number and any type of aircraft owned by or leased to, which will be operated by designated airlines of both countries to provide any type of service (transporting passengers or goods) between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates. "

The list of airlines included in this agreement includes such emirate airlines as Etihad Airways, Emirates Airline, RAK Airways, flydubai and Air Arabia. Turkmenistan is represented by its national airline Turkemenistan Airlines.
