Arab Emirates lead in the number of rooms in hotels under construction

The United Arab Emirates occupies a leading position in the number of hotel rooms under construction among all other countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

According to the latest Pipeline Report of STR Global Construction, dedicated to hotels under construction and hotel room commissioning, the United Arab Emirates occupies a leading position in the region in terms of the number of accommodation facilities preparing for delivery in the near future.

As of July this year, the number of expected hotel rooms in the UAE was 55,165. The total number of hotels and rooms under construction in the MENA region is 455 and 126,273, respectively.

In second place after the UAE is Saudi Arabia, waiting for 17,283 numbers, while 8,544 numbers are already under construction.

As one of the key markets in the region, Dubai at the end of July had the largest number of expected hotel rooms - 32,686, with 17,162 rooms under construction. Dubai is immediately followed by the capital city of Abu Dhabi, awaiting receipt of 14,641 hotel rooms, with 8,544 rooms under construction.
