In Dubai with a scandal canceled a circus show with white lions

The circus show, in which extremely rare white lions play the main role, was canceled in Dubai due to public outrage.

Meraas, the owner and operator of Last Exit in Dubai, canceled the Latino Circus circus show. The reason was the scandal that caused the show - four rare white lions were supposed to appear on its arena. This caused a negative reaction of the inhabitants of the UAE.

Earlier this week, Last Exit asked the show's organizers to refuse animal participation, but Latino Circus made no concessions.

Facebook activists of People for the Protection of Animals are among those who have called for protests against the circus show.

"We are very pleased that Meraas listened and decided to remove the animals from the show, although we are still concerned about the welfare of these animals. Wild animals should never be forced to perform at the circus," said Dr. Kirsty Lawton, spokeswoman for the animal welfare group.

Teddy Auad, manager of Latino Circus, previously stated in the media that "any critic who eats meat does not have the right to speak out against the show."

There are less than 300 white lions in the world. The color of these animals is due to a rare mutation.
