Consulate of Ukraine opened in Dubai

The Consulate of Ukraine began its work in Dubai on April 5, 2012. Its consular district covers the territory of the northern emirates of the country: Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al-Kheim, Ajman, Fujairah and Umm Al-Quwain.

The new consul, head of the Ukrainian Consulate in Dubai Petro Goloveshko, said: "This event is an important step towards the further development of relations between Ukraine and the UAE in all areas of bilateral cooperation." According to him, the priority of the consular establishment will be the provision of consular services to citizens of Ukraine who live and relax in the United Arab Emirates. About 80% of Ukrainian citizens live in the UAE precisely on the territory of these northern emirates. Most Ukrainian tourists also choose these emirates for vacations, so the start of the Consulate will greatly simplify access to necessary consular services for Ukrainians.

Petro Goloveshko also emphasized that for the period of the Euro 2012 championship in Ukraine, the Consulate will pay special attention to issuing Ukrainian entry visas to citizens and residents of the UAE.
