The largest mural in the world painted in Dubai

On April 28, another one was added to the piggy bank of world records in the United Arab Emirates. The largest mural in the world was expected to be created in Dubai. The unique mural was presented to the general public by Sheikh Nahayyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the UAE. The fresco opening ceremony was held at the Dubai Gloria Hotel Dubai. It was attended by Dr. Gate bin Hamel Al Gate, vice chairman of Al Ghaith Holding, members of the hotel administration and other officials, as well as representatives of local and foreign media.

The fresco is made by Lebanese artist Suheil Madi. Suheil called his unique creation "Caravan of Women". He is convinced that his fresco is the largest in the world, has no analogues and will certainly be listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

“I painted it on the terrace of the eighth floor of the Gloria Hotel, which has 41 floors. The fresco can be seen from a great height and even from a helicopter,” Madi said. “This is a gigantic flat 3D image with an area of approximately 1700 m2".

According to Madi, the “Caravan of Women” tells the story of a camel caravan that once passed through the desert of the Arabian Peninsula, in which women traveled. The fresco personifies reverence and respect for mothers, wives, daughters and sisters. “I spent 100 hours working on the mural. It could well cover a football field,” Madi explained. “I painted with small brushes. One of my students helped me. The criteria that are record in this work are the size of the board on which superimposed a fresco, and the short time in which it was painted. "
