Etihad Airways: 4 years in Russia

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, marks the fourth anniversary of its operations in Russia. She launched direct flights between Moscow and Abu Dhabi on December 1, 2008 and in less than four years transported about 250 thousand passengers and 620 tons of cargo. For the convenience of Russians, in 2009 Etihad Airways increased the number of flights from Abu Dhabi to Moscow from five to seven per week, and in 2010, together with TT Services, opened the UAE Visa Application Center in Moscow. Etihad Airways Pearl Business class guests enjoy the free Personal Chauffeur service - a luxury limousine with a personal chauffeur on the way to and from the airport (within the MKAD).

Speaking at a press conference in Moscow, James Hogan, Executive Director and President of Etihad Airways, said: “Our countries have close business and cultural relations - there are almost 25 thousand Russians and 400 joint ventures in the UAE. Occupancy of flights on the route Moscow - Abu "Dhabi is very high, joint flights with our code-sharing partner S7 Airlines contribute to an increase in passenger traffic. In the future, we plan to expand cooperation and increase the number of connecting flights through Abu Dhabi and Moscow."

In accordance with the agreement signed in August 2011, Etihad Airways appeared on S7 flights from Moscow to Kazan, Samara, Krasnodar and St. Petersburg, and the S7 code appeared on daily flights Moscow - Abu Dhabi and Moscow - Bangkok with a connection to Abu Dhabi. After obtaining the necessary government permits, the next stage of cooperation between Etihad Airways and S7 will be joint flights to Sydney and Melbourne.
