Dubai Coral Reef Open for Divers

Blooming coral reef, transferred five years ago from the Dubai port area (Dubai Drydocks), is open for divers in a new location, near the artificial archipelago The World in the Persian Gulf. According to marine biologists, the reef, which is considered the largest in Dubai, has not only been preserved in its original form, but even more "flourished and prettier." That is why it was decided to open it for research by tourists.

Nakheel, which is also the developer of The World archipelago, discovered corals on a breakwater in the port of Dubai in 2007. To save it, it was necessary to move more than 1100 stones weighing about five tons to a new place. As a result, they were treated with non-toxic glue and attached to the barge without being lifted from the water. Thus, he was moved with minimal damage: about 7% of the stones were lost during transportation. The diver has already begun to dive to the newly discovered reef. According to one of them, warm and clear water, an abundance of representatives of marine fauna and visibility of up to 15 meters were waiting for them in the area of diving.
