Dubai will have a mobile visa service

Tourists arriving in Dubai will be able to receive guest visas directly to their mobile phones. This was reported in the Directorate General for Residency and International Relations.

Thanks to a new initiative, guests of the country will be able to leave applications for visas on the agency’s website and receive SMS messages in response to their mobile devices. This service is part of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s plan, vice president, prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai to create a “Mobile Government” (MGovernment). It is assumed that within two years all government departments of the emirate will switch to the provision of services via cellular communication channels.

In 2000, a similar initiative was launched, called the "Electronic Government" (eGovernment), which implies access to all public services via the Internet.

"Our goal is to introduce the mobile services available for each portable device, mastering the most advanced technologies.

The government itself will appeal to residents, and not wait for them to come to it, "the ruler of Dubai said, but he did not specify which services will be provided and at what time they will be commissioned. It is also worth recalling that in the UAE one of the highest mobile communication utilization rates in the world - 14 million active subscribers with a population of 8 million
