The Catholic Church of St. Anthony opened in Ras Al Khaimah

The opening and consecration of the Catholic Church of St. Anthony of Padua took place on June 13 in RasAlheim, in the Al Hamra area.

The parish priest Thomas Ampattukuzhi thanked the authorities of the emirate for the opportunity to erect a temple on the Arabian Peninsula.

In total, the ceremony was attended by over 11 thousand parishioners, for whom a solemn sermon was read, a choir performed and a festive dinner was organized. It is worth noting that the temple can accommodate up to 1.5 thousand believers at a time, while in Ras Al Khaimah, according to some reports, more than 6 thousand Catholics live. The cost of construction cost 18.5 million dirhams (US $ 5.05 million).

It is planned that the temple will also be visited by parishioners from Umm al-Quwain, Sharjah and Ajman. Services will be conducted in English
