The world's largest chess club, Sharjah Chess Club, has opened in Sharjah. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Kassimi, a member of the Supreme Council and ruler of Sharjah, and invited guests included Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).
In a welcoming speech, Sheikh Sultan noted that the club will become a favorite vacation spot for young chess lovers. It is worth noting that the area of the club is 34 thousand square meters. ft. and the main hall accommodates up to 500 players.
