EMIRATES AIRLINE DUBAI JAZZ FESTIVAL® ANNUAL JAZZ FESTIVAL IS ONE OF THE GREATEST SPRING MUSIC EVENTS. This year, he gathered together a number of world-famous artists.

Interest in jazz music is growing in Dubai every year. A free lifestyle, self-expression without restrictions, talent and professionalism are what distinguish this genre and make it especially attractive to both “advanced” urban youth and the older generation, who still remember “fat music”. It is on this wave that the jazz festival sponsored by Emirates airline has been held in the emirate for the 11th time already.

Fans of spending leisure time to the sounds of saxophones, trombones and drums were waiting for interesting performances by the stars of jazz and blues. The opening took place on February 12 to the hits of the band Earth, Wind & Fire and guitarist Al Mackay. February 14, giving all lovers a great mood and a wonderful evening, The Wanted and Olli Merce spoke. The festival of jazz art was continued by American pop singer Malibu Coleby Caley and British pop and jazz singer Jamie Callum. Although Jamie was primarily a vocalist and pianist, he also accompanied other instruments, including the guitar and drums.

An additional Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival® venue called the Jazz Garden, as usual, gathered a huge number of fans and tourists. This year, in the Jazz Garden, which is conveniently located near the main stage, virtuoso drummer El Foster, trumpeter Ullas Rooney, singer Larry Carlton, jazz pianist Kirk Lightsey, saxophonist Tony Lakatos and many others performed evening concerts. Sylvia Droste pleased the visitors with her amazing voice.

The culmination of the festival, no doubt, was the recital of the legendary virtuoso guitarist Carlos Santana. The famous musician performed on the final day, performing only the best songs

EMIRATES AIRLINE DUBAI JAZZ FESTIVAL® 2014

  • The festival from a small event, first held in 2003, has become one of the main events in the cultural life of Dubai.
  • In the first year of the festival, a total of 8 thousand people visited. In 2014 - more than 55 thousand!
  • Initially, it was a three-day event, but over time, there were so many participants and guests of the festival that the organizers increased the period to three weeks.
  • Now the festival is meeting dozens of groups who play jazz, soul, rock, reggae, as well as R&B and other modern music at numerous concert venues.

JAZZ APPEARANCE

  • Its appearance is associated with the blues that arose at the end of the 19th century as a fusion of African and European rhythms.
  • But every advanced music lover will object that jazz is rather a way of life, a special state of mind, and not just music.
  • Initially, jazz arrived in America in its infancy from African lands, but under the influence of Western culture took shape in a new bright style.
  • Although even today, the jazz palette cannot be called complete.
