Only in dubai

London-based journalist Sophie Robemed wrote a book, "Only in Dubai," ridiculing common Dubai stereotypes. The author describes 20 types of people living in the city. Among her characters are "Newly Designed Designers", "Peacocks from a Palm", "Mid-afternoon British" and others. "Dubai does not look like any city in the world. It is incredibly interesting and, perhaps, one of the few where 90 percent of the population are visitors. It would be a sin not to describe local stereotypes."

An Anglo-Lebanese writer lived in Dubai for only a year, from 2012 to 2013, but she is very familiar with the Jumeirah Jane generation (a term for the wives of wealthy expats living in villas in the Jumeirah area). "You should not take any heroes and situations too seriously. This book should make you laugh at yourself or just smile."

The book, titled "Only in Dubai - An Essential to the Emirate's Expats", is already sold in the UAE's bookstores.
