The most famous film by Soviet directors Andrei Tarkovsky "Stalker" will be screened in the center of the Cinema Akil arthouse on September 7th.
The picture is based on a small work by the Strugatsky brothers, telling about a certain place where a meteorite once fell, and several decades later a huge anomalous zone formed there. In the processing of Tarkovsky, a rather simple story received a new life and deep philosophical implication, assuming the guise of a modern parable.
The plot focuses on a small group of zone researchers led by the sullen but wise Stalker. A scientist and writer, having heard about a mysterious room that fulfills desires, hire Stalker as a guide to the forbidden territory.
The room is not far from the borders of the zone, however, Stalker leads his customers on a long detour, trying to avoid the deadly traps generated by the anomalies. A dangerous journey into the depths of one’s fears and nightmares ends in frightening uncertainty, as a result of which each of the guests in the zone acquires his own enlightenment.
