Opera Gallery Dubai invites you to an unusual tour of works of exotic culture

The Dubai branch of the world famous Opera Gallery - Opera Gallery Dubai - presents an exhibition of the duo of artists who will send viewers on a journey through exotic cultures, authentic techniques and an abstract vision of nature.

Both artists in their work leave many references to their Moroccan heritage. Yasmina Alawi and Yasin Mekhtache created unique works for this exquisite exhibition, which will be held in Dubai from March 8 to 22, 2017.

Yasmina Alawi was born in New York. The artist is of French and Moroccan origin. This is her first solo exhibition in the region. For her, she prepared beautiful, unprecedented works, collecting sand, gravel and minerals on one canvas. The fundamental themes of all her works are directly related to her experience of multicultural education and should become a bridge for opposites: secularism and sacredness, classics and modernity, order and chaos, repulsion and attraction.

Yasin Mekhtache began his career as a self-taught street artist in France, and his canvases tell of a long journey spanning three continents, cultures, traditions and techniques. The journey begins in France, where he is looking for the concept of his works, which are an intricate combination of embroidery, painting and beadwork. Then the viewer is transferred to Morocco, where some parts of the canvas are embroidered using traditional patterns - arabesques. Local women in a small village poured their culture and traditions into the works before the canvases went to India. The last leg of the journey returns the viewer to France again, where you can find such touches as elegant colors, bird images and portraits. The Conference of the Birds collection showcases true art to guests at Opera Gallery.

Opera Gallery Dubai promises an exquisite exhibition with full immersion thanks to the professionalism and dedication of two artists.
