Dubai tourists will be given free alcohol licenses

In Dubai, tourists will be given monthly licenses to buy alcohol in stores.

Tourists in Dubai will begin to issue free licenses for a period of 30 days for the purchase of alcohol. Using this document, guests of the emirate will be able to buy in stores and store alcohol, without violating local laws.

A free tourist alcohol license is available for non-Muslim guests of the emirate who are over 21 years old.

The retailer's website Maritime and Mercantile International (MMI), a subsidiary of Emirates Group, explains how to apply for a license. For this, tourists need to visit any store of the MMI network, having a passport with them, fill out and sign a form confirming that the buyer is a tourist. The store will need a copy of the passport and registration stamp when entering the country.

In addition, each buyer will be given a special guide - the so-called "tourist code of conduct", which contains basic instructions related to drinking alcohol: you should not drink alcohol in public places, you should not drive while intoxicated, and so on.

Before the introduction of the new rules, licenses for the purchase of alcohol could be obtained on a resident visa or to buy alcohol in restaurants and bars, without the right of removal.
