For some tourists, visas at the entrance to the UAE will be free

Visa fees to the United Arab Emirates for certain categories of tourists are canceled this summer.

Tourists traveling to the UAE this summer will not have to pay a visa fee for dependents under the age of 18, the Federal Office for Identification and Citizenship reports.

The exemption from payment will be valid from July 15 to September 15 of each year and is expected to increase the number of tourists this season.

The exemption from fees was first announced by the UAE Cabinet of Ministers in September last year. This year will be the first for the initiative.

Authorities said that people under the age of 18 can get a visa for free, provided that they are accompanied by one of the parents, regardless of the validity period of the parent's visa.

Tourists wishing to visit the country can apply for family tourist visas to travel agencies and to the national carriers of the UAE (Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai and Air Arabia).

In addition, the UAE has changed the rules for extending visas for dependents over 18 years of age.
