The order for the construction of a mosque in Al Tay was received in 2014. Since then, 300 million dirhams ($ US 81.7 million) has been allocated for its construction. The mosque covers an area of ​​about 186 thousand square meters. meters, including gardens.

On the territory of the mosque there are separate residences for the imam and muezzin, as well as walking paths around the mosque, a souvenir shop, thousands of parking spaces and wheelchair compartments. Non-Muslims may be present.

The UAE Central Bank issued two new commemorative coins to celebrate the opening of the mosque on Friday.
