Three ships washed ashore off the coast of the UAE

A storm wind threw three vessels on the coast of the northern emirates of the UAE in two days.

In the northern emirates of the UAE, due to strong winds and waves reaching a height of eight meters offshore, on March 1 and 2, 2019, two ships were washed ashore in the Al Hamria region in the emirate of Sharjah, and another in the Al Zora region in the emirate Ajman.

According to the official authorities, despite adverse weather conditions that greatly complicated the conduct of rescue operations, they managed to avoid human casualties - all crew members were safely evacuated by rescuers and coastguards. At the moment, the sailors are in temporary detention in the port, feel satisfactory and, after completing the relevant documents, will be sent home.

"It was a difficult day for the coast guard and the control center at the port of Al Hamri, but, thank God, everything was done without human casualties," an official spokesman said.

At the same time, the inhabitants of the United Arab Emirates were urged not to swim, not to be close to water and not to go to sea, and also not to approach sea-going ships ashore, which could be a serious danger in the next couple of days.

At the end of February, UAE forecasters warned of a sharp drop in temperature, rain and an increase in the northwest wind from March 1 to March 5, 2019.
