Facebook helps UAE residents find missing children

The social network Facebook will help residents of the UAE to find missing or abducted children.

Dubai, UAE. The social network Facebook will help residents of the United Arab Emirates find missing or abducted children. The country became the first in the region where the Missing Child Alert service was launched.

Social network users are advised to carefully consider the appearance of this notice on their pages. After all, their vigilance can help a missing child reunite with his family.

"We want users to understand that these messages are rare and spread only in the search area. If you received it, then a child has disappeared nearby, and your eyes and ears can help find it," the Facebook administration said in a statement.

This system is activated by the police after receiving a statement from the parents. The notification appears on the screens of users living in the search area - those who are supposed to be of real help.

The decision to turn on notifications is made by the UAE Ministry of Internal Affairs after its employees make sure that the life and health of the minor is in danger, and that there is enough information about him for a public search.

Users are also encouraged to share information about the missing child with their online friends. The notification will include all the information necessary to detect the child: his photo, description, place of loss, etc.
