You can now book your parking spot in Dubai using the app.
At the Gitex Technology Week in Dubai, the Dubai Highway and Transportation Authority (RTA) launched an application for booking parking spaces.
Now the place can be booked even before arrival by paying the cost of parking (10 dirhams ($ US 2.7) per hour and another 10 dirhams for each subsequent hour) using a debit or credit card.
The application is available on Android devices, but a version for iOS devices will soon appear.
Parking reservations are currently limited to two areas - Dubai Marina and Dubai Media City. According to RTA, in the next phase, smart parking will extend to more areas.
RTA has also launched many other smart initiatives, including Nol Plus, a loyalty program for public transport passengers; an automated chatbot system called Mahbob that uses artificial intelligence to communicate with RTA clients; and an updated version of S'hail.
