Dubai Metro will receive new trains

Dubai Metro will receive electric trains with a new interior design of cars.

Dubai, UAE. The Dubai Metro will begin to receive new electric trains with an innovative wagon design in November 2018, the Dubai Committee on Roads and Transport said. In total, up to October 2019, 50 new compositions manufactured by the Polish company Alstom will be delivered.

In particular, 15 trains will serve the Expo 2020 route (partially opened next year), and another 35 will operate the existing metro lines. The interior of the wagons has been updated: now there are separate wagons for women and children in the tail, the type of luggage compartments, the layout of seats, handrails, electronic displays and even the hitch between trains have changed. The wagon capacity has increased - from 643 to 696 passengers.
