The ruler of the emirate of Sharjah issued a decree on the establishment of an art academy.
The ruler of the emirate of Sharjah, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, issued a decree establishing the Sharjah Academy of Fine Arts.
The new decree provides that the Academy, owned by the government of the emirate, will be independent from a financial and administrative point of view. Income will be exempt from all taxes and fees.
The institution will award bachelor, master and doctor degrees. The Academy course provides professional and educational programs for all ages in the field of art.
Last year, in the neighboring emirate of Fujairah, plans were announced to create an art academy to teach students such disciplines as calligraphy, painting, ballet and music.
