Dubai and Abu Dhabi reported an increase in tourist flow

Dubai, UAE. The growth of tourist flow in Dubai and Abu Dhabi amounted to about 3.6% in the first quarter of 2018, compared with the same period last year. The occupancy rate of hotels increased by 1.2%, and hotel rooms - by 5.7%, according to the statistics of the emirates.

Revenue per room also showed growth - between 3.9% and 4.8% in both emirates. A report issued by the Central Bank of the UAE also confirmed that the tourism sector is in a state of healthy growth.

In the first quarter, tourist flow from Russia to the UAE again increased, which is explained by the attractive ruble exchange rate against the dirham. Dubai received 1.8% more tourists in the first quarter than in the same period a year earlier, Abu Dhabi recorded an increase in tourist flow of 11%.
