UAE beauty salon accused of peeping

The owner of a women's salon in the emirate of Fujairah appeared in court because of the installation of CCTV cameras.

The owner of a beauty salon in the Emirate of Fujairah, UAE, was charged with violating the privacy of his clients, which was expressed in the form of installing CCTV cameras.

Employees of the municipality found the installed cameras during a routine inspection of a female beauty salon. An investigation was conducted, after which the case was transferred to court.

Meanwhile, at the preliminary hearings, the accused’s lawyer stated that the cameras were installed in the reception and outside the cabin. The cameras were not located in separate cabin rooms. In addition, no one complained of privacy breaches.

The lawyer asked for the release of the arrested store owner. The hearing was adjourned.
