All Jumeirah restaurants in the UAE will refuse plastic products

From Sunday, all plastic products will disappear at Jumeirah restaurant establishments in the United Arab Emirates.

Jumeirah Restaurant Group (JRG) from the UAE announced plans to strengthen its commitment to environmental protection - since Sunday, restaurants in the group refuse to use disposable straws, toothpicks and all plastic products. The Noodle House, Flow and Pierchic have already announced the abandonment of plastic straws and cutlery. Other JRG establishments, including Al Nafoorah, Pai Thai, Perry & Blackwelder's, Trattoria Toscana, 360 °, Segreto and The Agency, follow suit.

Sunday also marks "International Day for Companies That Care". On this day, a special event will be held at Noodle House - visitors who bring plastic cutlery to any branch (except Dubai International Airport) will receive a 50 percent discount on food bill.

"It is more important than ever that brands take responsibility for participating in shaping a better world, and we strive to gradually get rid of plastic in our activities," said Emma Banks, general manager of Jumeirah Restaurant Group.
