Another UAE taxi service switched to hybrid cars

One of the largest taxi operators in the United Arab Emirates has received 50 hybrid vehicles in its fleet.

Arabia Taxi, a member of the Arabia Holdings group of companies and one of the largest taxi operators in the UAE, has received 50 Toyota Prius hybrid vehicles in its fleet.

Green cars will be served by the emirate of Ajman.

Saud Abbashi, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Toyota, said vehicles would result in significant savings for the taxi operator.

"It is estimated that each of our Toyota hybrid electric cars can get rid of about 7.65 tons of CO2 for every 850 thousand kilometers of operation, the approximate" life "of a taxi in the UAE," Abbasi said.

The car transfer ceremony in Ajman was attended by Omar Ahmed Bin Omayr, CEO of Ajman Public Transport Corporation, Habibullah Khan, chairman and managing director of Arabia Holdings, as well as Mr. Abbashi.
