A worker from the UAE will receive $ 270 thousand for a spinal injury

A worker in the UAE who has suffered a spinal injury in the workplace will receive compensation of 1 million dirhams.

A worker at a construction site, completely paralyzed after a wall collapsed on him while on duty, will receive 1 million dirhams in compensation. The Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal ordered two workers guilty of injuring another worker from Asia. A medical examination showed that what happened at the site in Abu Dhabi led to the fact that the builder broke his spine.

According to official court documents, one of the workers jokingly pushed the other onto the wall that had just been erected. The wall, which was not yet strong, suddenly fell upon the third worker who was having dinner nearby.

A medical examination showed that a worker from Asia had a broken spine, and other parts of the body were also damaged in the victim. The severity of injuries led to a complete paralysis of the body.

An additional forensic report states that, in addition to paralysis of the body, the victim cannot fully control urination and facial expressions. Due to injury, the worker became impotent.

Abu Dhabi police indict two workers for causing health damage.

The prosecutor insisted on payment of monetary compensation, since the victim completely lost his ability to work, moreover, the man was the only breadwinner for his wife, children and parents who were waiting for him at home.

Two guilty colleagues admitted that their prank led to the collapse of the wall, but they argue that in no case did not want to intentionally harm anyone. The trial court ordered the guilty to a fine of 5000 dirhams and payment of 200,000 dirhams to the victim. However, further public prosecutors insisted that this decision be appealed to the court of appeal.
