The world's second largest emerald arrives in Dubai

A huge emerald, mined in Zambia, arrives in Dubai for an exhibition.

The Indian jewelry company Diacolor opened its representative office in Dubai, exhibiting on this occasion the second largest and largest emerald in the world at 6,100 carats. A gemstone was discovered at the Kagem mine in Zambia.

It is called “Insofu”, which translates as an elephant calf. Its main features are large size, purity and color.

This is the first time an emerald that Diacolor has acquired at an auction in Zambia is on display in Dubai and the Middle East.

Rishab Tongya, managing director of Diacolor Fine Contemporary Jewels, announced his readiness to exhibit emerald in a museum, for example in the UAE, because, in his opinion, it is in the public domain.
