Residents of the elite district of Dubai are concerned about the foam off the coast of an artificial lake

Large fragments of foam near the shores of the lake in the Jumeirah Islands area in Dubai disturb local residents.

While environmentalists are trying to figure out why hundreds of dead fish were thrown onto the shore of the Jumeirah Islands in Dubai last month, another mystery has arisen - a mysterious foam emitting an unpleasant odor between district clusters 6 and 8.

Local residents are concerned that the foam may contain any substances and be hazardous to health.

Residents say that workers are trying to wash off the foam, but it doesn’t work out for them.

Some environmentalists believe that foaming in the lake is not a new phenomenon - wind flows often cause foam. Others suspect the formations contain chemicals.

According to representatives of the Nakheel developer, foam formation is a natural process that occurs in water bodies. This is usually caused by decay of organic objects such as leaves and algae. Unlike closed lakes in other communities in Dubai, the lake in the Jumeirah Islands is connected to the Persian Gulf, so traditional methods of treatment and cleaning do not help in this case. The developer said that he continues to solve this problem by regularly cleaning the surface of the lakes.
