UAE announces holiday calendar for 2018

The government of Abu Dhabi has released dates for official holidays in the United Arab Emirates in 2018.

The Abu Dhabi government has announced a list of public holidays in the UAE for 2018. A statement published on the government portal said that the exact dates of Islamic holidays may change, as they depend on the phase of the moon.

The first holiday on the calendar is New Year. It is held in the UAE on January 1, 2018.

According to the Gregorian calendar, Ramadan should begin on May 16, 2018, Eid Al Fitr on June 14. Three days will be festive, starting from this date.

Hajj begins on August 12, 2018, and Arafat's day will be held on August 20.

Eid al-Adha will be held for 3 days, starting from August 21, 2018.

Muslim New Year will be held on September 11, 2018.

Prophet Muhammad's birthday is November 19, 2018.

Martyr's Day will be held on November 30, 2018.

The last holiday of the year will be UAE National Day. December 2 and 3 for this occasion will be festive.
