Businessman deported from UAE for treason to wife

The Dubai Court of Appeal upheld the sentence for the man accused of treason. He will be imprisoned and then deported.

In the UAE, the businessman lost the appeal process and will spend a month in jail for cheating on his wife and intimate relationships with a stranger.

His stepson became aware of the deception of a man. A young man of Indian descent found several obscene photographs of his stepfather with a certain woman in his mother’s laptop.

The businessman’s wife filed a complaint with the police. The man denied allegations of having an unknown woman.

In August, a court on cases of punishable misconduct in Dubai sentenced the accused to one month in prison, followed by deportation.

The defendant tried to appeal the main decision to the Court of Appeal, claiming that his wife’s charges were fabricated. According to him, the wife and stepson forged photos with a woman whom, according to him, he does not even know, because of the impending divorce between the businessman and his wife.

The presiding judge dismissed the defendant's appeal and upheld the earlier sentence.

The decision on deportation was also upheld.

The defendant was also ordered to pay 21 thousand dirhams ($ 5.7 thousand) to his wife in compensation.

The forensic report confirmed that the accused entered into intimate relationships outside of marriage. In the Dubai police laboratory, it was found that the photographs that were evidence of the crime were not tampered with.

The appeal ruling is still subject to appeal in the Court of Cassation.
