New road projects in Dubai will reduce the transport load on the International City area.

The traffic load on the roads of the International City district in Dubai and Dragon Mart will soon begin to decrease thanks to new and modernized road projects that increase road capacity.

Crossroads, new flyovers, slopes, lanes are designed to offload the area, which has always encountered traffic jams.

In particular, the project will modernize Al Manama, increase efficiency at intersections, namely Al Manama Street-Nouakchott Street, Al Manama Street-Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Al Manama Street-414 Street (main entrance to International City).

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the modernization of the Al Awir Road, an entrance to the International City Project (phase II), which costs about $ 52 million.

Mattar Al Thayer, CEO and chairman of the RTA Board of Executive Directors, said: “Al Manama Street-Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road intersection modernization projects include an extension of the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road junction from three to four lanes in each direction, which increases the carrying capacity of the bridge from 4.5 thousand cars per hour to 6 thousand cars per hour. "

“The work also includes the expansion of Al Manama Street between Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and the entrance to International City from three to six lanes in each direction. This improvement will increase the traffic capacity of the road by 1.5 thousand cars per hour per lane. Al Manama Street will also be expanded in this sector from the entrance to International City to Academic City Street from two to five lanes in each direction. The expansion will increase the throughput of this street from 3 thousand cars to 7.5 thousand cars per hour, "he said .
