Sharjah changed speedway on major highway of Sharjah

Sharjah Emirate Highway Increases Maximum Allowed Speed

Sharjah Emirate Police, UAE, announced Thursday, November 23, an increase in the maximum permissible speed on a major highway - Maliha-Al Faiya Street - from 80 km / h to 100 km / h.

The change came after the Sharjah Police Headquarters examined the proposal recommended by the Transport Committee.

The increase in permissible speed was made possible thanks to the road works carried out by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Sharjah to facilitate traffic in the area.

The radar will record cars moving at speeds above 120 km / h instead of the previous 100 km / h.

The Traffic and Patrol Division confirmed that the radar is designed to contribute to the implementation of the comprehensive traffic safety plan adopted by the Sharjah police and aimed at improving traffic safety in the emirate.

"In order to increase the level of safety, stationary and mobile radars were installed on the roads in order to increase traffic control, as well as to protect the lives of drivers and road users," the Sharjah police said in a statement.

The Sharjah Police Directorate General called on motorists to be vigilant, avoiding violations and ensuring the safety of other motorists while driving.

Authorities also stressed the need for public participation in a safe driving culture and compliance with speed limits to prevent traffic accidents.
