Abu Dhabi police set a new world record

In the United Arab Emirates, the largest youth gathering in history was held.

Abu Dhabi police are listed in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest "youth club" dedicated to Internet security and cybercrime. The event was held in the UAE capital last Sunday.

A total of 5 thousand Emirate students, as well as representatives of various professions, gathered at the largest youth club in history at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City.

The record event was attended by Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumiti, Police Chief Commander Abu Dhabi, Major General Maktum Al Sharifi, Police Director General Abu Dhabi, State Minister for Youth Affairs Shamma Al Mazrui and other government officials.

Those under the age of 30 were given the opportunity to ask important questions during the session, including the issue of child safety on social networks such as Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat.

One girl raised an interesting question about how you can use all the online tools offered on social networks and on the Internet, without becoming dependent on them.

Major General Al Rumiti said that the safety of users on the Internet is one of the top priorities for the Abu Dhabi police.

"The Abu Dhabi Youth Police Council is trying to use all potential resources and invest in young minds and empower them, adopting their ideas and initiatives aimed at solutions that ... enhance security," he said.

He added that "everyone gathered is one team that needs to work together."

The event was also attended by Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director General of the Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training Abu Dhabi (ACTVET), as well as Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).
