Dubai Taxi Park replenished with Tesla cars

The first fifty Tesla electric vehicles have been handed over for operation in the Dubai Taxi Park.

Fifty electric vehicles have already arrived at the Dubai Taxi Corporation taxi fleet on Sunday, September 18, 2017.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Said, Executive Director of Emirates Airline & Group and Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Energy Council, has adopted two models of cars: S and X. Both of them involve autonomous driving.

In total, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) ordered 200 Tesla vehicles at the World Government Summit in February.

Seventy-five more cars will be delivered next year, and the remaining 75 are expected in 2019.

Mattar Al Thayer, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, said that Dubai Taxi Corporation is working to create the necessary infrastructure, including the opening of 13 electric vehicle charging stations.
