Heads of diplomatic missions of the CIS countries in the UAE discussed preparations for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory.
March 15, 2015 at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Abu Dhabi, a meeting of the heads of diplomatic missions of the CIS countries in the UAE. The meeting was attended by the heads of diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
The main issue on the agenda was the preparation and holding in Dubai of a gala evening dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. During the meeting, which took place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, decisions were made on the main issues related to the celebration - the date and venue, the official program, the composition of the guests of honor, the participation of the CIS diasporas.
As in previous years, the Russian Emirates Publishing House will take on some of the organizational issues, and activists of public organizations of compatriots from Russia and other CIS countries registered in the UAE will take an active part in the preparation. This year, the organizers chose one of the most prestigious hotels in Dubai, Madinat Jumeirah, which has a multi-purpose hall, ideal for organizing such celebrations.
According to the most conservative estimates, this year at least 750 guests will be present at the festive event, including heads and representatives of ministries and departments, as well as other state, municipal and public structures of the UAE, heads of diplomatic missions of foreign countries, representatives of state-owned companies and large business, employees of the embassies of the CIS countries in the UAE and the press. Most of the invitees, as in previous years, will be representatives of numerous CIS diasporas in the United Arab Emirates.
By the end of March, at least one more meeting at the ambassadorial level will be held in Abu Dhabi, during which it is necessary to choose the concept of the festive part of the evening, and in April meetings in the format of working groups will become weekly.
