Dubai has completely stopped the licensing of massage parlors

The municipality of Dubai has decided to completely stop issuing licenses to new massage parlors after a raid by inspectors revealed a large number of violations in working parlors, including the provision of sexual services. During the raid, municipalities visited 34 salons, in 25 of which violations were discovered. The most private of them was the provision of services to men by female masseurs, which is completely prohibited by the terms of this business and the license. Almost all the salons operating in residential areas were fined 10,000 dirhams for this violation (US $ 2,778). In addition, in some salons, inspectors found, in addition to massage oils, lubricants and condoms, which gave reason to doubt the purity of doing business. Such salons were closed during the raid, and information about violations was transmitted to prosecutors. The inspectors were also alerted by the price list of some salons where simple massages cost from 800 dirhams (US $ 228) for an hour or more.

"We have completely stopped issuing licenses to new salons, and it is not yet known exactly when and how their licensing will be resumed," Omar Bushehab, a spokesman for the Dubai municipality, told the press. “Now we have established total control over the violators, and if they continue to work in the same vein, we will begin to close those salons that were not closed during the raid.”
