Abu Dhabi Hotel Room Prices Become More Affordable

According to the international company Jones Lang LaSalle, the average room rate (ADR) in Abu Dhabi hotels has decreased by 35% from January to May of this year, and price reductions will likely continue until the end of the year.

The average room rate in capital hotels is currently 830 dirhams (US $ 226). Last year, ADR for the same period reached 1,270 dirhams (US $ 347). A further reduction in prices during the year is due to the advent of new hotels and furnished apartments with a total of 1210 rooms.

Recall that in the second half of 2009, seven new large five-star hotels on the island of Yas were opened in the capital, including Fairmont Bab Al Bahr and Aloft Capital Center. The total number of hotel rooms in them was 1860. It is expected that by the end of 2012 several more five-star hotels will appear in Abu Dhabi, including The Rocco Forte Hotel, Jumeirah Etihad Towers, Hyatt Capital Gate and Park Hyatt Saadiyat Beach, which will add to the total number of rooms another 7500 numbers.

The average occupancy rate of hotels remains high in the central and well-developed business districts of the capital, in less developed and distant from the center, for example, on the island of Yas, this figure has not yet increased.
