In the UAE, the shortage of nursing staff will be filled at the expense of foreign workers

In connection with the opening of numerous new healthcare facilities, the UAE recruiting agencies plan to hire hundreds of nurses this year to provide the market with the necessary number of personnel. In the country today, there is a strong shortage of middle and junior medical staff.

Employment agencies recruit nurses and orderlies from other countries, including the Philippines, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and India. Such a move will help provide staff with hospitals and medical centers that open this year in Sharjah, Fujairah and Ajman.

According to experts, expanding in the field of healthcare in the UAE requires not only a larger number of personnel, but also requires more highly qualified personnel.

Recall that at the end of April, the University Hospital in Sharjah was opened, in which 700 people will work. Another 5 medical facilities are currently under construction in Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah.

According to Edna Rance, Reach Consulting's business development manager in Abu Dhabi, this year they plan to hire about 200 nurses at the request of their clients.

Last January, the company helped the Ministry of Health recruit 100 nurses from Jordan and 228 from the Philippines for Masafi Hospital in Fujairah.

Interviews with candidates were held in these countries, in each of which a delegation from the UAE Ministry flew.

Companies that are engaged in the employment of nurses in the UAE are required to verify all the data on education and work experience provided by the candidates, and this can take up to six months. And although such checks guarantee the quality of services, at the same time it delays the recruitment process and creates an artificial shortage in the labor market.
