Ilya Reznik is a Russian poet, born in Leningrad on April 4, 1938. The besieged childhood, the evacuation to the Urals along the "road of life" through Ladoga, the death of the father from injuries in the hospital, the new marriage of the mother upon returning from the evacuation; her departure to Riga - all this fell to the lot of the boy.
The abandoned child is adopted by the elderly adoptive parents of his father, in fact, good strangers. Then the breadwinner-grandfather dies (a wonderful shoemaker on whom the whole house was held). But half-starved childhood and youth could not squeeze out dreams of the theater from Ilya’s heart.
With the light hand of Irakli Andronikov, who blessed him, but far from the first attempt, in 1958 he entered the LGITMiK (Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinema).
In the period from 1965-1972. Ilya Reznik serves in the acting troupe of the theater named after V.F. Komissarzhevskaya. Here he plays the roles of big and small, interesting and not very. And then there was the song "Cinderella" (1969). The first song of Ilya Reznik, in a matter of days, circled the entire Soviet Union, brought the poet all-Union popularity and decided his fate. In 1972, feeling in himself strength, calling and demand, Ilya Reznik leaves the theater and begins to engage in professional song poetry. In the same year he became a member of the Leningrad Union of Writers. In 1974, the poet’s friendship with Alla Pugacheva began, which became the laureate of the All-Union Contest of Variety Artists for performing a song on his poems "We Sit, Pokayem". Since then, Ilya Reznik has written hundreds of songs, epigrams, satirical poems, and even the script for the musical “Come and Speak” with Alla Pugacheva in the title role. Thus, the book of lyrical initiations and epigrams called “Two Stars and Other Constellations” (Zebra Publishing House), expected by us in the UAE, includes the author’s poetic improvisations, including those dedicated to the participants of the Two Stars TV show. The friendly attention of the poet was awarded to about two hundred heroes of our time - cultural figures, writers, actors, directors, playwrights, entertainers, politicians and just good friends of the respected author. Among them are Vladimir Vysotsky, Maya Plisetskaya, Joseph Kobzon, Alla Pugacheva, Alexander Shilov, Ilya Glazunov, Zurab Tsereteli, Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Grigory Leps, Leonid Roshal, Raymond Pauls, Victor Drobysh and many, many others. On the pages of the book you can also see cartoons of the outstanding Russian cartoonist Vladimir Mochalov, the author of satirical cartoons from the TV program "Cartoon of Personality", as well as drafts of the author of poems.
Ilya Reznik - winner of many awards, including the FSB Prize in the nomination "Musical Art" for a series of poems for songs about secret service employees (2008); Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" IV degree (March 29, 2008) for his great contribution to the development of domestic literature and musical culture; Order of Honor (April 4, 1998) for merits in the field of culture, as well as the titles of People's Artist of the Russian Federation (February 22, 2003) and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (July 4, 2000) for great merits in the field of art. In 1999, the poet became a member of the Moscow Writers' Union, and in the same year he was declared the 22-fold winner of the Song of the Year television competition. In 2002 he was elected a member of the Board of Directors of Channel One OJSC, in 2008 - Chairman of the Public Council at the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. In the same year, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II, the book "Prayers" was published. The poet was awarded the Order of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Blessed Prince Daniel of Moscow, III degree.
